Faraday Cage

From HvWiki

A Faraday cage is a enclosure designed to either contain or exclude an electromagnetic field. It's general application is shielding circuits from radio interference. Commonly, it's just called "shielding."

The shielding can be designed either solid or open (as with wire mesh). All that matters is that the spaces in the mesh are small enough that the wavelength of the undesired signal cannot pass though. In effect, the faraday cage could even become a simple filter. Also, the building material must be conductive.

Depending on the application, the shielding may or may not need to be grounded.
