Georg Ohm

Born on the 16th of March 1789 in Erlangen, Bavaria Ohms father schooled him and his siblings. In 1805 Ohm became a student of the University of Erlangen. In 1827 he wrote a book titled Die galvanische Kette, mathematisch bearbeitet that explained electrical theory and explained resistance and is why the symbol for the unit of resistance is Ω (Ohm).
