Oscillator

From HvWiki

An oscillator is a mechanical or electronic device that works on the principles of oscillation: a periodic fluctuation between two things based on changes in energy. It can be any circuit that produces a waveform at some frequency.

The four parts to an oscillator are the power supply, frequency determining network, positive feedback, and an amplifier.
