For what is "bleeding resistor" ? If i have a sparks vhen i switch on the supply of charging voltageand plug in bleeding resistor, vill it reduce or stop sparking in switch ? Which value of resistor is the best ? I have about 4700uF at 200V plz if this must be deleted, send answer to dingo27@ic.cz thanks
Well it's a bit late, but basically a bleeder resistor slowly lowers the voltage of the capacitor bank if the coilgun isn't fired. The goal is to make the bank technically safe to touch within minutes, however you should NEVER trust your life to that. A resistor of several tens of thousands of ohms to a few hundred thousand ohms is normally used, depending on voltage. This will NOT help with switch flash over, raising the inductance or using electronic switching will. Backyard Skunkworks 19:37, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
